Cornwall has a beautiful 300 mile long beach that is perfect for building sandcastles and trying some water sports. Cornwall's Crealy Adventure Park is nearby and is full of rides and various activities that the kids will love. A stop off at the Museum of Witchcraft will also entertain the whole family as you can explore the world's largest collection of witchcraft related artifacts and regalia.
If you want a holiday that is somewhat more relaxing, make your way to the quaint city of Bath in Somerset. After a long day of exploring the sights and pigging out at the local traditional sweet shops, you can visit the Roman Baths and Museum where children are able to have their own audio guide tour with some of the exhibitions.
Beechenhill Farm in Peak District National Park offers the perfect opportunity for your children to see farm animals up close and personal. This organic farm welcomes kids to help feed the chickens and collect eggs as well as watch milking twice a day. If you enjoy walking around in the evenings, there are night time nature walks available here to take advantage of as well.
Nettlecombe Farm in the Isle of Wight is similar to Beechenhill Farm. From May through September you can help out and participate on nearly all farm duties. If you want to go fishing, you can take your pick from any of the three lakes available nearby. If fishing is not your thing, you can go horseback riding instead as there are opportunities for that as well.
