Getting very cheap flights to Bangkok is possible - you've just got to know where to look and when to book! Here is some top advice to make sure you get the very best deal available on your flights to Thailand...
- Book as far in advance as possible. There's really no such thing as cheap last minute flights - on the vast majority of flights, the seats start at their cheapest when all of them are still available, and then gradually rise in price as they sell out. Have you ever gone to book a flight only to be told at the last stage that the price has risen by a few pounds? That's because someone else was booking their tickets at the same time as you and got in a little before you. It's therefore a good idea to book as early as you can - airlines normally release tickets for sale 12 months before the departure date.
- Always compare prices from different airlines. Sites like Expedia are great for comparing the prices of different airlines for the route and date that you want to fly. But Expedia often only includes airlines that it has an agreement with. Opodo and, our personal favourite, Sky Scanner, are more comprehensive options and include budget airlines.
- Consider indirect flights. Some airlines offer very cheap flights to Kuala Lumpur or Singapore, from where you can get an advance booking to Bangkok from as little as £30. Price comparison websites should show you these options if you indicate that you will consider flying indirect.
