Venice is located in northern Italy and is one of the top tourist destinations in Europe. Venice has a rich culture and heritage and there is a diverse architectural style. There are a number of major attractions in the city including St Mark's Basilica, the Grand Canal and the Piazza San Marco. The city has a humid subtropical climate meaning there are very warm summers and cool winters. Average temperatures during the summer are around 20 to 25 degrees.


There are regular flights from all across the UK to Venice. British Airways have three flights from Gatwick each day at 7.40 am, 13.50 and 19.20. Flight duration is just over 2 hours. They also have at least one flight from Heathrow every day. Prices start from around £68 one way. Ryanair have two daily flights from Stansted to Venice. Ryanair also fly from Nottingham. The first flight departs at 6.25 in the morning and the second one leaves at 19.05. Easyjet and Monarch also fly there from Gatwick. Jet 2 and Monarch fly from Manchester.
