Turkey: a great last minute option for your summer holiday.
Turkey was fast catching up with Spain as a favourite holiday destination for Brits and over the past few years, tour operators have increased the number of Turkish holidays on sale accordingly. This summer Turkey was tipped as a hot destination until, despite being a democratic state showing no signs of trouble, it became associated with political instability in North Africa, and now the operators are struggling to fill capacity.
As a result, Thomas Cook (www.thomascook.com 0844 412 5959 ) has lots of cut-price holidays available, including quality four-star hotels with plenty of facilities, reports the Daily Mail. Prices are under £550 a head all-inclusive for a family of four for a week in August.
Turkey specialist Anatolian Sky (www.anatoliansky.co.uk 0844 571 9128), which chooses more exclusive locations, also still has plenty of holidays left for this summer at specially low prices compared to the last few years, and is offering some free child places for under-sevens.
Recent assurance from the Turkish Tourist Office has quelled fears of trouble and, unlike Greece which is experiencing transport strikes, there’s nothing to stop you basking in the sun without a care in the world. With cheap flights, good value hotels and wonderful places to visit, make Turkey a top destination for your summer holiday.
