Your guide to travel beauty
Want to look good while you're on the road? Whether you are going on a round the world adventure or a just weekend away, your normal beauty routine may seem difficult to maintain. Our guide to travel beauty will help you stay looking fab with minimum fuss and minimum maintenance.
Maintaining a good skin care routine is essential while you are on the road, especially if you are travelling to a climate that you are not used to. Skin can react badly to the cold, humidity, heat, pollution, sun cream etc. However, you don't want to be carting along the usual cleanser, toners, moisturisers, serums and eye creams that you use at home.
Luckily there are a number of great multi-purpose travel beauty solutions. Luxury brands often sell travel sized 3 in 1 products, and because of their small size, they don't cost the earth. This is a great way to downsize your cosmetics bag and add a little luxury to your suitcase.
On the road, you probably won't want to apply a full face of make up every day. In fact, there's a good chance that you'll go bare face on most days! However it's always nice to have a few good products for a nice dinner or night out.
Our travel make up bag includes: tinted moisturiser with SPF, a multi-purpose cheek/lip tint (We love Benetint from Benefit), a good concealer and a small waterproof mascara. For a night out, we'll just apply more of the tint and more mascara than we would during the day.
Instead of carting along your hair-dryer and straighteners, look for a travel beauty product that doubles as a frizz controller and a curl/wave booster. Just rub into damp hair for a laid back, beach babe look. If your hair is naturally straight, pop some product in and put your hair in plaits overnight - et viola! A low maintenance hairstyle that will last all day.
