Get in quick before the snow melts! Go skiing at Switzerland resorts
When winter comes to an end most of us jump for joy, happy to see the back of the frosty mornings, dark nights and cold temperatures. Not if you are an avid skier! But there is hope for you skiing maniacs out there, for even in April you can hit the slopes in Switzerland. But first you have to find yourself a place to go skiing. Take a look at these two skiing Switzerland resorts ideas!
St. Moritz is one of the most famous and popular ski resorts in Switzerland. It is home to the annual Engadin cross-country ski marathon, it hosted the Olympic Winter Games twice and it has three big, gorgeous ski areas at your disposal! If you love steep slopes, then check out Diavolleza; for an adrenalin rush of large near-vertical incline there is the Corvatsch peak, and for the gentler more elegant and well cared for terrain, the Corviglia pistes are for you! A great accommodation option is the Hotel Steffani. It is located in the centre of St. Moritz and is close to the ski lifts. It features a spa centre with a swimming pool, solarium, sauna and much more!
For the largest ski resort in the country, Davos is the destination for you. There are six main ski areas in Davos, which are Parsenn/Gotschna, Jakobshorn, Pischahorn, Rinerhorn, Schatzalp and Madrisahorn. There are slopes for a wide range of skiing levels from easy slopes for kids to the more difficult pistes for the more advanced skier. There are loads of cross-country trails, tobogganing and sleigh rides, you can even go ice-skating on the largest outdoor rink in Europe! We recommend staying at the Arabella Sheraton Hotel Seehof. This resort is located on Davos' most famous street, the Promenade, next to the Parsenn cable car. This way, you have immediate access to the ski slopes. The hotel offers three restaurants onsite, a wellness centre, a sauna and jacuzzi, massage services and more, perfect for unwinding after a hard day of skiing!
