Not only is it right next to the Col Alto ski lift but it also has other draws. Firstly it is home to the excellent Michelin-starred Stüa di Michel restaurant, whose ‘right on’ chef uses locally sourced, organic, Fairtrade ingredients to whip up succulent food. Cool diners often arrive on skis. Secondly the hotel may be up a mountain, but it has one of the largest wine cellars in Europe, with at least 4,000 vintages. The L’Murin Après Ski Bar is also hugely popular.

Finally the family run hotel offers impeccable service and a truly welcoming atmosphere, with each guest receiving individual attention from the staff and three brothers who run it. There’s a ‘kitchen party’ once a week, where guests and staff get together in the kitchen to chat over drinks and hors d’oeuvres.
