No sat nav? Plan that route!
Holidays can bring back terrifying memories of map arguments, being lost for hours and breakdowns. This is a horrific memory to have of a time that is meant to be a getaway from the stress of real life.
This happens to a lot of families because they get lost along the way. It's fair to say that not everyone has the cash to splash out on a Tom Tom, or have the type of fancy car that comes with Sat Nav. This is the reason that most people have a simple road map in their glove box. A simple road map that hasn't been updated since the dawn of time. As you get older, so does the information contained on your map. Many things happen over the years from construction to closing roads so you have to keep up with a new map.
A map should basically be used as you route planner. You should never be afraid to draw out your plan directly on to the map. Get a blue pen for your main route and have an alternate red pen path just to be sure that you are covered in any event.
How do you plan the route? Simple, the world wide web will provide yet again! Any route planner website gives you the ability to type in where you are and where you need to be. The route planner will give you a few different ways to get there and you simple have to take note!
