How to get there

Most visitors to Ranthambore arrive by train at Sawai Madhopur. It is well connected to Delhi (326km), Agra (227km) and Jaipur (132km).

When to visit

The park is open between 1st October and 30th June. November to February is usually the best time to spot tigers, due to the deciduous foliage in the park.

What to wear

There are two safaris a day, and the first starts not long after sunrise. In the winters it can get very cold, so you'll need to bring warm clothing and layer. For the afternoon drives, loose, natural fibres are recommended to keep cool. As you'll be sitting in an open top vehicle, it's a good idea to bring a sun hat.
