Once in Dublin, you’ll not lack for things to do. First rate dining is offered all over Dublin. For example, The Saddle Room in the Shelbourne Hotel on St. Stephen’s Green is a great place to go to celebrate a birthday or anniversary. While it is a bit pricey, you can spend a little less and visit during lunch hours. They offer a full menu including seafood entrées as well as steaks, chops and poultry, and they have a well-rounded wine list.
After lunch, you can take a stroll in St. Stephen’s Green and have a lovely rest beside the beautiful lake. Or, you can take one of the many Dublin City Bus Tours which start at €16.00 for a 1.5 hour tour of the city with stops along the way to such sights as Dublin Castle, St. Patrick’s Cathedral and the Guinness Storehouse.
Ireland flights into Cork may cost a little more, but a trip to this Southern Irish city is worth it. Cork offers a good concentration of pubs offering up a pint or two, some friendly conversation and great craic. Coming soon in November at the Cork Opera House are such well-known musical guests as Steve Earle and Charley Pride.
