Ryanair, which likes to be known as the world’s favourite airline, launched new routes to Greece in February, enabling Liverpudlians to fly directly to Kos and Rhodes. Flights to Rhodes from London Stansted have also taken off in a big way. And now, with temperatures warming up, Venice will become a new destination as of the beginning of June, with flights due to start from Bristol, East Midlands, Leeds and London Stansted in time for summer.
And if you prefer somewhere warm but not too warm, remember that Ryanair continue to fly to Santiago de Compostela in northern Spain from London Stansted and recently added flights from Frankfurt Hahn and Bergamo. Modern day pilgrims are supposed to arrive in this mystical city on foot, by bike or by horse, but that’s not to say you can’t nip over by plane for a summer break to visit the city's iconic Obradoiro Cathedral.
Santiago offers visitors other rewards too: a beautiful old town with cobblestoned streets and plenty of character, splendid and plentiful cuisine including arguably the best seafood in Spain, and all washed down with the local excellent white wine, Albariño.
So whether it’s sun sea and sand, haunting history or a culinary trip that takes your fancy, log on to www.ryanair.com and book now for summer!
