Madeira in May.
Are you one of the many who just drool at fun loving, smiling dolphins? And do you love the warm southern sun, have a penchant for island destinations and feel like a quiet May break after all the Royal Wedding hype? Then we have the perfect five day break for you!
Specialist wildlife company Naturetrek (www.naturetrek.co.uk), is offering five days in Madeira from the 28th of May, specifically focused on tours to spot a wide variety of dolphins, Bryde’s and sperm whales. The Bryde’s whale, a smaller relative of the blue whale, returns to the waters around Madeira at this time of year and May is a beautiful month to visit the island, with the jacaranda trees in bloom, reports the Daily Telegraph.
If you can’t make it to California, Vancouver or the latest whale watching hotspot Sri Lanka, within Europe, the Azores is hard to beat and Madeira provides an ideal island setting from which to see both common and rare species.
The cost of the tour is £895 per person, based on two people sharing a double room and includes flights, accommodation, transfers, boat trips and expert naturalist guides.
