Liverpool City Hotels
Planning a trip to Liverpool for some retail therapy? You won’t be disappointed – the city has a whole host of stores, from fashion, homeware and electricals, to toys and gifts.
One of the best places to head for is Liverpool One, the city’s newest shopping district with more than 140 shops including John Lewis, Debenhams, Lakeland, Radley, Hobbs and Karen Millen. Luckily for shopaholics, some of the best Liverpool city centre hotels are located nearby, making it very handy indeed to drop off those all important purchases and have a well earned rest!
The Hilton Liverpool Hotel is situated within Liverpool One itself, so you won’t miss a moment of valuable shopping time. This stylish new building is just minutes from Lime Street railway station and 20 minutes from Liverpool John Lennon Airport. It’s also five minutes’ walk from the waterfront’s Echo Arena. Choose from guest rooms, suites and executive rooms, each offering WiFi internet access and satellite TV. And just in case walking around all those shops isn’t exercise enough, the hotel has a fitness centre! The Luxury in Liverpool offer, which runs until December 31 2011, consists of an overnight stay in an executive room or suite, with buffet breakfast and bottle of Champagne on arrival. It also includes access to the executive lounge serving complimentary drinks and snacks. Prices start from £109 per person per night, based on two people sharing. Bookings can be made at Hilton.co.uk.
Just across the main street at the Albert Dock, Liverpool’s Jurys Inn Hotel is also ideally placed for concerts at the Echo Arena or for shopping at Liverpool One. Also one of the newer Liverpool city hotels, the wharfside building has 310 air conditioned guest rooms with multi-channel flatscreen TV and high speed internet. Room rates vary depending on when you book – for example, room only on Saturday October 8, 2011 costs from £131, but there is an October Discount Special on selected dates, such as Friday October 28 which costs just £50 per room, so it’s well worth checking the website at Jurysinns.com.
