A guide to Las Vegas shows
Las Vegas shows
After the casinos and gambling, Las Vegas shows are probably the biggest draw to the city, and one of the things it's most famous for. Week after week there is an assortment of world-beating shows held here. But there are also some less impressive shows, so to make sure that you don't waste your money on an underwhelming performance, here's a selection of some of the best.
Cirque du Soleil's performers are probably among the best acrobats on the planet, and the shows that they put on are consistently awe inspiring. For a night of beauty, acrobatics and circus antics that you'll never forget they're unbeatable. They regularly devise and perform new shows so don't worry about seeing a specific one as they're all good. However, if it happens to be on during your visit then 'Totem' is one of their best; it charts the evolution of the species and the rise of science through acrobatics and dance, with an inspired set and an epic conclusion. You can find out what they're currently performing and make a booking at vegas.com.
'Phantom- The Las Vegas Spectacular' has been designed as a once in a lifetime musical experience. Staged in a custom built $40 million theatre designed to resemble the exquisite Paris Opera house, it's a cut down version of Phantom of the Opera, complete with state of the art special effects used to bring the iconic musical to life like never before. It may sound like a gimmick, but it's so much more than that, and can only truly be appreciated by seeing it.
These are by no means the be all and end all of what Las Vegas has to offer, but they are two of the best nights out that you'll likely find in the city.
