Finding a job can be hard, yet more so if you have limited resources or limited access to information. Visiting a Job Centre is one of the fastest ways to get your information out there and to get access to current vacancies, but what if you want to search the database online?
The good news is that there is a site run by the Job Centre, but the URL is somewhat surprising. You should navigate to this URL to access the page directly: http://jobseekers.direct.gov.uk/homepage.aspx?
Once the page loads, you'll see that you're able to search by entering a job title, reference or an SOC code. You're also able to search by location and can limit results to a certain area. Additional search options include the hours you'd like to work, permanent or temporary positions, and the age of the vacancy. You're also able to specify if you'd like to work evenings, nights, weekends or termtime.
You'll need to register for an account to use the site, but it seems to be free. The site also includes other links and even gives search tips, useful links, tips on safe job seeking, careers and skills advice, and much more. There's even a section especially for job seekers in Northern Ireland.
This may be one of the most useful job search resourced on the Net for UK and Northern Ireland residents, so be sure to pay a visit. It could just help you find the perfect job, quickly and easily!
