It’s all happening in Genoa this weekend.
The northern Italian port city of Genoa is expecting hundreds of thousands of visitors to flock to its fiftieth International Boat Show, one of the largest of the year. Running from the 2nd to the 10th of October, around 2,300 boats will be on show, with at least a third coming from overseas, reports the Independent. So take a look at what’s new in boat and yacht design using the nine kilometers of pathways constructed over the sea.
But it’s not just about boats. Landlubbers can keep busy with their feet firmly on the ground at one of the impressive cultural displays organised for the occasion. Several events with a Mediterranean theme have been organized at Genoa's Palazzo Ducale, including a multimedia and interactive journey exploring the different cultures of the Mediterranean Basin.
The Museo del Risorgimento will also be opening its installation of Il bacio di Francesco Hayez (The Kiss by Francesco Hayez) to coincide with the start of the show and the Museo Luzzati is hosting a special exhibition of the works of Flavio Constantini. New exhibits have also been installed at the Acquario di Genova. Or you can just lap up the buzz, and taste the delicious local cusine.
