How to apply for a Passport
If you are wondering how to go about applying for your first passport then you are in the right place. The first thing you need to be aware of is that it will take at least 6 weeks to get your passport so you need to apply well in advance of travel dates to ensure your passport has arrived.

There is a slightly different process for people who have previously had a child passport and the turn around time is a lot faster.. You can apply for it through the Post Office’s Passport Check and Send service at a cost of £81.25. You should have your new adult passport within 3 weeks and any time left on your old child passport will be added to the new one up to a maximum of 9 months.
