Chill out in this stylish hotel located on the southern coast of Sri Lanka. It's near the beach of Unawatuna (pictured), one of Sri Lanka’s best beaches and close to the charming port of Galle, a town enclosed inside an old Dutch Fort, the oldest European colonial fort remaining in Asia.
Built in traditional Sri Lankan style, the rooms are beautifully decorated with modern en-suite bathrooms. Book well in advance to avoid disappointment as there are only eight bedrooms available, four on the ground floor, 2 with private courtyards and all with wheelchair access, and four on the first floor with magnificent sea views.
The nearby waters are rough and not recommended for swimming but the hotel has a 50 ft long sea-water pool where you can take a dip, lounge and order a mean cocktail and tapas from the well stocked bar. There's also an excellent restaurant, considered 'the' place to eat amongst the cognoscenti, where you can chose from a collection of oriental favourites for under £5 a course.
Prices range from £125-£185 per night for a double or twin room, including breakfast, reports the Telegraph.
