Located in the centre of Palma de Majorca’s old town, the Hotel Dalt Murada is an impressive 16th century mansion, converted to a four star hotel 9 years ago by Ferran Moragues, whose family has owned the house for 250 years. In fact most of the furniture and paintings have been passed down through the family for generations, so enjoy the character that antique furniture brings to your surrounds.
There are three double rooms and five suites available for guests, all with high ceilings, heavy furnishings and four poster beds, in keeping with the general style of the house. Many of the rooms also have a balcony overlooking the charming courtyard, reports the Telegraph.
Despite being in the centre of the city, the hotel is quiet, peaceful and the stone building stays cool in summer. Breakfast is served to guests but there is no bar or restuarant. For those who have to stay in touch with the world, Wi-Fi is available.
The hotel is easily reached from La Palma airport and most of Palma’s more famous attractions are within walking distance. La Seu Cathedral, which took 500 years to build, is especially impressive and a visit to Bellver Castle is a must.
