How to make your holiday an adventure
We all want to get the most of our holidays. For some people, that involves laying by a pool all week and doing nothing - and there's certainly nothing wrong with that! It's your holiday, so enjoy it. However, if you enjoy active breaks and want to make your holiday an adventure, these tips could come in handy.
Maximise your time
To maximise your time in your destination, choose flight times that arrive early on your first day and leave late on your last. If you are travelling long haul, look for overnight flights.
Leave behind your gadgets
If you bring your laptop, tablet or smartphone you'll probably be tempted to check your emails, watch a movie or play a game. Leave them behind and seek out the local entertainment instead!
Go easy on nights out
If you want to make your holiday an adventure, you're going to have to make the most of your days. That means that you might have to go easy on nights out (not too late or too drink fuelled!). By getting up before 9am you'll be able to visit the best attractions before the crowds arrive. You'll also be able to fit more into your day than you would have done if you ad lounged around until lunchtime.
Bring the right gear
The last thing you want is to miss out on an adventure because you don't have the right footwear or clothing. Research your destination and the activities that you would like to take part it before you leave. That way, you can plan your packing list accordingly.
Be open to new experiences
If you want to make your holiday an adventure, you should be open to new things: new culture, new food and new activities. One of the best way to get the most out of your holiday is to do what the locals do - shun the tourist traps in favour of local hang outs and eateries.
