With its world famous Tower and amusement arcades, donkey rides on the beach and Kiss Me Quick vibe, holidaying in Blackpool is a step back in time.
Traditionally the realm of guest houses and B&Bs, Blackpool now offers plenty in the way of more luxurious accommodation too. A great example is the Waldorf Blackpool Hotel. With forty bedrooms, many with a sea view, the hotel is situated on the South Promenade. Its location makes it very convenient for all the top attractions: Blackpool Tower, the Pleasure Beach, the Zoo, Sea Life Centre and the theatres. A standard double room in August, with sea view, costs from £72 per night based on two people sharing on a bed and breakfast basis.
For an even more central location why not try the Trafford Hotel. Situated just a five minute walk from the Winter Gardens, this is a small family run hotel, who take pride in their customer service. Their sixteen bedrooms are all clean and well furnished and perfectly comfortable. Room rates start at £45 per night for an en suite double room in the peak season.
Blackpool has certainly not had its day. For a holiday destination in this country it could suit the whole family down to a tee.
