For flights from London to Thailand, it's a good idea that you start planning now if you don't want to pay over the odds. Here are a few tips to help you find and secure the best prices...
- Never underestimate the savings you could make by shopping around and comparing different airlines, routes and departure dates. You'll quickly realise than some airlines charge twice as much than others on this route. Aim to be as flexible as possible - flights on a Tuesday or Thursday (which are less popular dates to fly) can be significantly cheaper than flights on others days. Flights that depart from one London airport may also be much cheaper than flights that depart from a different London airport.
- Enter LON into the search box for your departure point. This is the city code for London and will include the results for all London airports, including Heathrow, Gatwick and Stansted (from where Air Asia fly).
- Flight price comparison sites can literally save you hours and suggest options that you otherwise may not have considered. Sky Scanner (skyscanner.com) and Opodo (opodo.co.uk) are two of our favourite tools - use them both to ensure that you aren't missing out on anything. It's also a good idea to check the airlines' own websites to see if there are any special offers or deals available if you book direct.
- Consider an extra connection - although you can fly directly from London to Bangkok, there are some great savings to be had with indirect flights with Asian budget carriers.
