New York, NY - Union Square Greenmarket

The Union Square Farmer's Market occupies the length of the west side of the square. Stalls are filled with local fruits, vegetables, dairy, meats, poultry, fish and spices. Nestled amongst the fresh produce are local artists selling their pieces at reasonable prices.

Chicago, IL - French Market

Taking its cue from European-style markets, Chicago’s French Market is located next to the Ogilvie Transportation Center. The traders here specialise in tempting pastries and prepared foods as well as produce, meats, cheese and seafood. Grab some mussels and delicious Sicilian sandwiches. Portland, OR - Portland State University

Portland is riding high on its status as hipster central, in part due to its reputation for being one of the country's most eco-conscious, sophisticated food cities. Naturally, the city’s farmers’ markets are in a league of their own. There are six in total in Portland, but this one boasts the most relaxed atmosphere and eclectic visitors.

San Francisco, CA - Ferry Building and Plaza
