Fun things to see and do in Doolin, Ireland
Doolin in County Clare, Ireland, is probably one of the smallest places you'll ever visit. But, don't let that put you off as, not only is it one of the most beautiful places on the planet, there are an amazing number of fun things to see and do. Listening to traditional Irish music in the village's pubs, and surfing are just two of the many surprising things Doolin has to offer.

Surfing - When you think of a teeny tiny village on Ireland's west coast, surfing might not be the first thing that comes to mind. Surprisingly, Doolin is famous for its surfing spots, with surfers coming from all over the world to surf Ireland's biggest waves. So smashing is surfing off Doolin, it's even been featured in a documentary about the sport - Waveriders.
Rock climbing - If you love the great outdoors and a bit of adventure, Doolin is the place. The village offers sea-cliff rock climbing (not for the faint of heart) as well as easy access to Ailladie, one of Ireland's most famous rock climbing destinations, and just a few minutes away by car.
Doolin Cave - Known for being the home of one of the world's largest stalactites, Doolin Cave is a great family holiday spot. Mum, dad and the kids can join a guided tour that will take you deep inside the cave system, right into a cathedral-like cavern where you'll see the astounding stalactite and look down on a large cave stream far below.
Visit the Harbour - Don't miss stopping off at Doolin's harbour, a wild, beautiful spot, and see the ferry boats leaving for the Aran Islands and the Cliffs of Moher.
Pub meals and traditional Irish music - Doolin is most famous for being a place where you can listen to some of the best traditional music in Ireland. Several of Doolin's pubs have live music every night, and combine that with some smashing pub grub, and your evening couldn't be better.
