Cool concerts in Spain this summer.
25 million tourists have visited Spain this year and that’s just up until June. With low cost flights to many Spanish towns from regional UK airports as well as London, quite a number of them are likely to be Brits and it’s not just the ‘costas’ that are drawing the crowds. Culture vultures head to Barcelona and Madrid to visit their remarkable galleries and monuments.
Travellers to Madrid may have visited the stunning La Granja de San Ildefonso royal estate and Versailles-style summer palace. Summer sees a ‘Noches Mágicas de La Granja’ (Magical Nights of La Granja) programme of events. La Granjazz finished this week, but you’re still in time to catch the Festival Internacional de Música y Danza with a mixture of classical and modern music and ballet. The festival winds up on the 19th of August so go to www.realsitiodesanildefonso.com/nochesmagicas for more information.
Alternatively, if you’re in the Burgos region why not see what the Spanish music scene has to offer? Sonorama music festival (www.sonramaaranda.com) is taking place from the 11th-14th of August in the attractive town of Aranda de Duero, which is said to serve some of the best roast lamb in Spain. So enjoy a good meal, then take in a concert and watch the musicians strut their stuff!
