It's now common knowledge that you can save big if you take the time to compare flights to Thailand. Flight prices can fluctuate dramatically depending on your departure date and departure time, how far in advance you book, where you fly from and which airline you fly with.
Flight price comparison sites can literally save you hours and suggest options that you otherwise may not have considered. Sky Scanner (skyscanner.com) and Opodo (opodo.co.uk) are two of our favourite tools - use them both to ensure that you aren't missing out on anything. It's also a good idea to check the airlines' own websites to see if there are any special offers or deals available if you book direct.
In terms of departure point, it's always advisable to be flexible wherever possible So, for example, if you are based in London, don't just compare flight prices for Heathrow - by entering the city code LON into the departure point search box, you can widen the net and see all available flights from London to Thailand. Likewise, if you're based in Liverpool, check flights departing from Manchester; if you're based in Belfast, look at Dublin departures as well. You could find that the price you save on your flight more than makes up for the extra expense and inconvenience of an extra train ticket.
Aim to keep your travel dates flexible if at all possible - most price comparison websites allow you to view the cheapest flights for a whole week, allowing you to plan your holiday around the best deals.
