Turkey is a top tourist destination for good reason. Read on for some helpful information on cheap holidays from Belfast to Turkey.


Turkey is famous for its historical sites and seaside resorts. It is bordered by the Mediterranean Sea to the south, the Aegean Sea to the west and the Black Sea to the north and boasts some magnificent coast line and beaches.  Istanbul is Turkey's largest city and has a number of historical sites including the Blue Mosque and the Grand Bazaar. Major beach resorts such as Bodrum and Kusadasi are also very popular.


Thomson Airlines have a direct flight from Belfast to Bodrum. There is one flight per week at 15.20 pm every Sunday. Flight duration is 4 hours and 20 minutes and the arrival time is 21.40 local time.  Prices start from around £100 each way.  Other airlines that fly this route include Thomas Cook and Aegean Air. Aer Lingus fly from Belfast to Istanbul with one stopover.


Turkey has a wide range of hotels and there are some excellent deals available. The Orient Express Hotel in Istanbul is located close to the Sultanahmet area of the city. This is a four star hotel with a range of excellent facilities. Rooms are spacious and fully equipped with modern amenities. All rooms have air conditioning, free wireless Internet and satellite TV. Prices start from £35 per person per night. The Zeytinada Hotel is located in Torba, just 5 minutes from Bodrum. Facilities include outdoor swimming pools, sauna and Turkish bath. There are also a number of restaurants and snack bars on the premises.
