Canada: home to the humble mountie, grizzlies of the soft black bear variety and a dazzling array of awe-inspiring natural sights and activities to try your hand at.
A massive monument to the overwhelming power of nature, the famous Niagara Falls is subject to a tremendous four million cubic feet of water pouring over it every minute. Visit the site either by boat or one of the many observation platforms and get ready for the roar of the water and the unavoidable spray that covers all bystanders.
Take time to visit Lake Superior, the largest of the Great Lakes in Canada and pay homage to the amazing natural phenomenon of the aurora borealis or 'northern lights' which appear as green, blue or even red streaks of light and vapour in the night sky. A magical experience.
Active pursuits are next on the list: Whistler-Blackcomb, with Vancouver, hosted the recent 2010 Winter Olympics, giving weight to its title as a world-class provider of activities ski and snow-related. For daredevil skiiers, Whistler Peak's summit provides a once in a lifetime challenge and the well-known 'Superpipe' is one of the best half-pipes for 'boarders to be found anywhere.
