Camping holidays in Italy
Italy is an incredible country to visit, with cities like Florence, Rome, Venice and Milan, and iconic attractions like the leaning tower and San Gimignano. With so many places to visit and things to see, many people choose to go for a camping holiday. It’s cheap and you have the flexibility to go wherever you want. Here we look at camping holidays in Italy.
If you are as far south as Sicily, the Sporting Club Village and Camping is worth a visit. This is a good choice if you are travelling with children as it is kid-friendly with plenty to keep the whole family entertained - including crazy golf, table tennis, playgrounds, tennis courts and bouncy castles. It's located near the beach and offers many sea activities like snorkelling and scuba diving.
Tuscany is another popular area to visit, and while you are there why not camp at the Campsite Parco Delle Piscine. Again it is a good spot if you are travelling with children; they have tennis courts, multisports fields, a swimming pool and table tennis. There are also marked and guided walks and (importantly!) bars, restaurants and snack bars for the grown ups.
Camping holidays in Italy wouldn’t be complete without a visit to Rome. Camping Village Roma isn’t too far from the city and they have spaces for tents, caravans and motorhomes. They offer all the amenities you expect from a campsite, and on-site there is plenty to keep kids entertained, including table tennis, playgrounds, pitch and putt, beach volleyball, pool tables and a swimming pool. Guests can also enjoy a few rounds on the nearby golf course, as well as the local shops, bars, restaurants and pizzerias.
Plan your camping
So when you are planning your next trip, why not consider camping holidays in Italy? Rather than staying in a hotel in the city, rent a car, pack a tent and camp. That way you will see much more of the country and you have the flexibility to go where you want when you want.
