What's the best zoo in the UK?

There is nothing better than spending the day at a zoo. Animal lovers can get close to some of their favourite critters and most people could easily spend a whole day strolling around. They are great for people of all ages and they are educational, but where is the best zoo in the UK?

There are many high quality zoos in the UK and all of them are worth a visit but there are a few that stand out above the rest. These zoos have been picked because of their animals, their conservation and research, the layout, special offers, activities and accessibility.

London Zoo is located in Regent’s park and is one of the best zoos in the UK. They have a huge range of animals from otters to gorillas. They do a lot of conservation work and they offer a lot of unforgettable experiences. Kids can sleep over and explore the zoo at night, you can be a zookeeper for a day (watch out for the penguins, they bite!) and you can even have some VIP encounters with your favourite animals! Entry costs around £23 for adults and £17 for kids.

Why would anyone want to get married anywhere else other than a zoo? At Chester Zoo you can have a wedding you and your friends will never forget. The zoo has around 11,000 animals and they do a lot of research and conservation work. They really are good at educating people about animals. Entry costs around £18.50 for adults and £13 for kids.

Edinburgh Zoo is definitely up there with the best. They have giant pandas, and that alone makes them best zoo in the UK! They have a huge range of animals and have a lot going on at the zoo. Prices for adults are around £15.50 and kids around £11.

Belfast Zoo is a great zoo too. They, like other big zoos, do a lot of conservation work and have many successful breeding programmes. You can be a keeper for the day, adopt an animal and get involved in some of the many education programmes. They have a lot of different animals and have just welcomed a crowned sifaka to their family. Entry costs around £8 for adults and £4 for kids.

There are a lot of good zoos around the UK but these zoos really stand out. Each zoo offers something different and no two have the same range of animals or facilities. Rather than telling you which is the best zoo in the UK, we recommend that you visit all of them and decide for yourself!
