Best plans with kids in the UK this Christmas

Christmas is a magical time of year for everyone. Once the Christmas tree is set up and the decorations are put up, take the family out of the house and enjoy some of the many Christmas activities that will please both your children and your inner child.

Winter Wonderland, Hyde park

Hyde Park has over 100 attractions for families to enjoy. While the entry to the park is free, families do need to pay for each activity whether that be ice skating or enjoying a scenic view from the ferris wheel. Make sure to stroll around the magical ice kingdom where you can discover beautiful ice sculptures.

Art Workshop: A Wartime Christmas at the Imperial War Museum

For children that are fascinated with history, take them to the Imperial War Museum. Here on December 20-23 and 27-31 children can decorate their own Christmas wreath. They will also learn about how Christmas was celebrated on the Home Front during WWI.

Enchanted Christmas, Westonbirt Arboretum, Gloucestershire

If your family enjoys spending time outdoors, head to the Enchanted Christmas. Trees are lit up and guide you while you stroll through the woods. It is all wheelchair accessible and has craft activities for the children and warm drinks for the parents. Families do need to pre-book as tickets are selling quickly.

The Donkey Sanctuary, Sidmouth

For a very different Christmas activity with the family, stop off in Sidmouth at the Donkey Sanctuary. Admission is free 365 days a year, but donations are welcome. Walk through trails and pet donkeys during your visit.
