Best Chinese Cities to Visit

With a population of around 1.5 billion spread across 9.6 million square kilometers, China does not lack places to visit and people to interact with. Here are some of the top cities to visit in China both that are well known and a few that may be more obscure.

At the top of the list is Beijing. While it is often full of tourist groups, there is good reason. It is home to the Temple of Heaven, the Forbidden City, Tiananmen Square, parts of the Great Wall, and much more. Even though you may have to dodge large tour groups, it is a city that is worth it.

X’ian has a long history and is most well known the Museum of Qin Terracotta Warriors and Horses which were discovered in 1974 and stretch over 4 pits. This is also where the Silk Road began.

Harbin lies in the Helongjian Province in the Northeast. One of the highlights is the annual Harbin International Ice and Snow Sculpture Festival. These are sculptures unlike anything you have seen. During the evening the coloured lights show off the ice artisans work. Harbin also is home to the Siberian Tiger Park for the adventurous type.

Zhangjiajie is located in the Hunan province and attracts tourists that love the outdoors. The most famous attraction in this area is in the National Forest Park, the Hallelujah Mountains. Visitors can hike through the peaks and even take a cable car through the Tianmen Mountains.
