The tour begins in Lima where you spend the first night, flying the following day to the city of Arequipa, Peru's second largest city and home to the Santa Catalina Convent, local galleries and the Museum of Andean Sanctuaries. You then continue into the heart of the Andes to Colca Canyon from where you can watch for magnificent condors, and then move on to Puna on the shores of Lake Titicaca, viewing the volcanoes of Ampato, Hualca-Hualca and the smoking Sabancaya en route.
Another highlight is a visit to Cusco and the Sacred Valley, at the centre of the Inca Empire. The city and valley are alive with a thriving indigenous population, aesthetic ruins and architecture. The trip culminates with two days at Machu Picchu where you can explore the Inca citadel. This amazing Andean experience ends with a scenic train ride back to Cusco for a further day in the city before flying back to Lima. Tour + Flight prices start from £2119.
